The programme is promoting seed multiplication to ensure that farmers access and use certified seed of improved varieties for leguminous crops but also, to help them realise incomes from the sales of groundnuts, soya, pigeon peas, beans and cowpeas. Annually, the Programme reaches about 20,000 farmers per annum who plant on average 0.1 ha each.
